Fibromyalgia Treatments- How to Seek Relief from Fibromyalgia Pain

By Shaun Marsh

We all know that fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder. The most common symptom is the widespread pain of the muscles, tendons and ligaments. Easy fatigability and focal tenderness are also common features of the disease. This is the most common cause of excruciating pain when you are affected with fibromyalgia.

There is about 2% of the total population that is affected by FM. It is directly proportional to age and occurs more in women than in men. Most of the time, there is no triggering factor for FM to occur but the symptoms may appear after emotional or physical trauma.

In the course of treating fibromyalgia, it cannot be avoided that we would feel frustrated because it can be complicated sometimes. The results of the treatment are most of the time not consistent. When you participate to ongoing research regarding this disorder, you will be able to see some of the innovative treatments. Some of these researches are based on survey alone but it can be the stepping stone for reaching the ultimate goal of discovering the treatment that will actually work.

The focus of the treatment is always on the presence of the pain. It involves increasing the pain tolerance of the individual and includes the aggressive multidisciplinary interventions. The absence of the symptoms of FM is not indicator of success in treatment.

The quality of life and tolerance for the symptoms are the measurement of the success of treatment. But, the best indicator of treatment success is being able to live a quality life. It is not unusual to experience that the disorder is not responding to treatment. Even if this is so, we know that it is not hard to address the symptoms of the disorder.

During the treatment process, some of the patients may have significant relief of their symptoms. Some others will only have the relief in moderation while others will only report a little of no relief at all. This is just the nature of treatment. - 29964

Best Way to Relieve Shoulder Pain Naturally

By Dr. Stephen Wander

The shoulders are designed to carry the arms with little support. There are ligaments, tendons and muscles holding the area in a ball and socket fashion. Unlike the hips and femurs, the shoulder is easier moved in all ranges of motion. This puts great physical stress on the joint which can cause shoulder issues.

The muscles which hold the shoulder are fairly small and stretched in comparison to other joints, therefore they can be more susceptible to dislocating and causing pain. This is the reason the shoulder is one of the most oft injured areas.

Look deeper into shoulder issues and patients may not even remember the incident which caused the pain. It could be a very timely trauma such as a car accident or sports injury. Sometimes it is poor positioning or repetitive microtrauma.

A chiropractor can evaluate and look for signs in mobility of the shoulder and neck to identify the problem. Although the arms are used so many times per day, the shoulder can become frozen or cause problems with just a slight movement. A common problem is the rotator cuff, as this can cause major pain and needs to be properly addressed.

As the shoulders are in close relation to the neck, which in turn is part of the spinal column, shoulder pain may be a secondary problem of spinal alignment. Using one of our chiropractic methods, we can assess, align and maintain a common balance for your well being. If the vertebrae or alignment is out of kilter, then this can have the knock on effect which can cause neck and shoulder pains. Headaches are also common with patients who are out of alignment.

Many medical doctors and physicians refer patients towards medications or surgery. Unless there is a tear, this invasive practice or putting medications into your body can further upset the balance. There are so many risks with surgery, which occasionally have problems and medication only masks the pain. Chiropractors use knowledge and specific techniques to find the primary cause of the problem and create a thorough plan to help the body heal.

At The Spinal Correction & Wellness Center, we have properly trained massage therapists and chiropractors who can help not only with the pain but create healing for the body. Correct spinal alignment can control numerous problems ranging from joint pain, muscular pain and internal functional issues. Our patients are advised on correct nutritional needs and are given a roadmap to wellness.

Shoulder pain is often mistaken and untreated. If left for extended periods of time, ligaments or cartilage can tear and cause even larger problems. Using meds to mask the pain, is only effective for a few hours before the next tablet is needed. A chiropractor can assess the damage, help correct the alignment of a patient and massage the location back in to better health. Shoulder pain is at times a secondary effect of a different problem. It could turn out the cervcial area or spine are at fault but the issue is felt more in the shoulder itself. It is important to find out what diagnosis there is and use a chiropractor to help fix it. - 29964

What's Up Doc? The Reasons Why Your Meds Are Causing Fatigue?

By Keith Woolley

This is exactly one of the questions you have to ask when you find out that your prescription medication you are taking to manage cholesterol is causing nutritive disparities in the body, which in turn may leave you feeling fatigued, forgetful and pretty lousy, without knowing why?

If you've been feeling this way for a while and have no other known health issues that could have effects on your well-being, there is a good chance that your cholesterol medicine has pulled the plug on a critical nutrient your body needs to maintain vitality and keep that all-important spring in your step!

CoQ10 has been represented as the biochemical spark plug and is also one of the most protective anti-ageing antioxidants to be uncovered. It's a naturally occurring substance that our body needs for our 'get up and go'. Each second, energy factories called mitochondria are working inside each one of the cells of our body, turning oxygen into pure energy, and CoQ10 has a mighty big role to play in this.

The bad stories is, when you take certain medications to lower cholesterol, such as statin drugs, these block your body's production of CoQ10 and the longer you take these for, the older you are feeling and more beat you become. There you are going to the gym, eating a sensible healthy diet, doing all you can do to keep fit and healthy, without knowing that literally something has pulled out your spark plug.

The center of the matter.. Clearly why we wish to lower cholesterol is to guard our heart, yes of course this helps in reducing cholesterol, however if our capability to produce CoQ10 is blocked, then this could have a negative effect on the heart. medical studies have shown that individuals with cardio aliments, for example angina, heart failure and coronary artery disease had a higher deficiency of CoQ10. Low CoQ10 implies your heart doesn't have enough energy or oxygen leading to lowered cellular energy and hence a weakly heart.

The Medical reports World previously reported on a study that showed patients with congestive heart failure that took 100mg of CoQ10 every day for six weeks had improved cardiac function. nutritionists believe that CoQ10 is one of the most significant nutrients to help the heart function optimally.

If you're on statin medication then you can take a CoQ10 supplement to support your fitness. Practitioners advise supplementing the diet with around 100m of CoQ10 every day. This can be taken once ( 50mg ) in the morning and again ( 50mg ) with lunch, split dose if regularly far better. Solgar Nutri-Nano CoQ10 is highly absorbable and gets working quickly. They use patented manufacturing that's unique and provides superior delivery of the nutrient. As it's so simply absorbed it can be more effective than other forms.

What's more ...

Co-Q10 is one of the most well investigated nutrient elements for safeguarding the body from age-related illness. Thru its profound energising capability, Co-Q10 can protect from diabetes and gum diseases as well as improving fitness by accelerating our exercise endurance. Find it difficult to keep off those extra pounds? Co-Q10 is essential to help the body burn fat far more efficiently. As levels decline as we age, so do our energy levels and our ability to burn blubber. Co-Q10 is important for our power generation and essential for carbohydrate metabolism. Co-Q10 helps breakdown fat better because it releases energy by burning up fat off, instead of storing it, especially around the middle of the body. One study of folk on a low fat diet who took CoQ10 doubled their weight reduction when compared with those that did not use it.

Another big health problem in the united kingdom is diabetes type two. Co-Q10 is shown to govern blood sugar and helps to lower glucose and insulin. In a double-blind trial patients with high blood pressure who were taking medication were given Co-Q10, which led to lower glucose and insulin as well as reduced blood pressure and triglycerides and HDL ( good cholesterol ) went up.

Up the Anti!

As well as using Co- Q10 daily- one of the most powerful, effective and protecting antioxidants for good health. If you want to stop the ageing process and keep the body in tip top condition, manage stress levels, be positive and invest in a healthy controlled diet with lots of fresh air, moderate exercise, fresh fruits and vegetables. Make sure you get a good intake of essential fatty acids ( omega 3-6-9 ) from nuts, seeds and oily fish. Daily juicing is a way of getting vitamins, minerals and antioxidants into the diet. To keep the heart healthy and you ecstatic, try bouncing back 15 mins a day to get the body moving if you are not hot for the gym. This is way better to keep you going, than any doctor's prescription! - 29964

7 Simple Mistakes That Are Making You Tired Everyday

By Gerry Geneva

You may sporadically feel tired in the middle of the day, or perhaps in the late afternoon, but you have to remember that you should not be experiencing it practically every day. If it becomes more of a habit than an occasional occurrence, perhaps you need to analyze your lifestyle - you may be doing some things that sap your energy. Here are just seven things to watch out for:

Being addicted to email. If you think about it, this may seem pretty harmless. Checking your email a lot has become normal in modern society. However, when you become a slave to email and you check it every 5 minutes, then there is something wrong. The constant back in forth not only lowers your productivity, but it also causes you to mentally wear out faster. Research has shown that if you can focus on specific tasks completely and batch similar processes, you will have much more energy. So instead of living with your email client open, close it except for 3 or 4 times during the day when you will check your email.

A lot of clutter. If you're moving around in an environment that's far from orderly, you may already have feelings of anxiety - even before your work starts. Start with a clean and well-organized desk; it will do wonders in helping you boost your energy.

No excitement in your life. Boredom could be contributing to your lack of energy. Its important to the quality of your life as well as your energy levels that you do something exciting and that you really enjoy at least once a week. Many recommend that you do something fun everyday for maximum benefit. Try to incorporate this into your daily routine. For instance, if you travel a lot, make a goal to play golf at various popular courses as you travel around the country. Add some spice to your life, you will feel the surge of energy and excitement come back to you.

Slouching can cause tiredness. When you sit in front of a computer for long periods of time like we all tend to do these days, you may notice a lack of energy. Much of that is due to poor posture. Along with other back and neck problems, slouching can cause you to not take in as much oxygen as you need. Also it causes your muscles to remain contracted which restricts blood flow. Make sure to watch your posture. Bonus tip: try to get up every 90 minutes or so to stretch and get some water (not soda, coffee, or anything else... just water).

Not getting outside. If you always find yourself stuck in your office for stretches of several hours or more, then you'll observe that you're likewise getting tired faster and faster as the days progress. Just because you have a heavy workload doesn't mean you have to stay glued to your seat all the time. Learn to take breathers and go outdoors for short walks. The fresh air helps and so does the vitamin D from the sun.

Eating too much. We live in a time when food is in abundance here in America. While eating food is key to getting enough energy, too much a good thing can harm you. When we eat too much, we get lethargic and a lot of bodily functions slow down to make energy for digestion. Furthermore, we generally eat way too much, which comes with its set of health problems. Most Americans could get by on half the food they eat. If you want to really benefit from eating just the right amounts and at the right times try a new concept called energy eating. Try to eat every 2-3 hours and make every meal about 300-500 calories. When you eat, eat as if you are tiding yourself for the next couple of hours only. Don't try to get full. When you energy eat, you'll notice your metabolism skyrocket which will melt off excess fat and help your energy levels increase.

Negative people. For me this is a big one. Some people are just a drain to be around. They really can suck the life right out of you. For your energy, success, and motivation, try to avoid these types of people. Instead seek out and hang around with people that uplift, are good natured, and optimistic. We often underestimate how much we are affected by our spirit and emotions. Negative people will drain your energy, while positive people will contribute to your energy reserves. - 29964

Conquering Fibromyalgia Now

By Tre Pleggi

Fibromyalgia is defined as a common and chronic pain disorder that can affect people with real, persistent pain throughout the body. It is a condition that was once thought to be psychological because no specific symptom or cause could be identified. Therefore it is called a syndrome rather than a disease. Fibromyalgia is characterized by widespread pain in ligaments and tendons, with painful response to pressure. There are multiple tender points on the body where even the slightest amount of pressure will cause debilitating pain. Today the medical community is inclined to believe that there may be a real basis for the physical pain, which might be the result of prolonged psychological stress. Conquering fibromyalgia is possible, but only with a better understanding of this complex pain disorder.

What Are the Symptoms of Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia causes achiness and pain all over. The tender points on the body may be painful to the slightest touch. Severe fatigue, sleep disturbances, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic headaches, and jaw pain are some of the symptoms of this disorder. Others include joint stiffness, anxiety, numbness or tingling in the fingers and feet, and depression. Many other chronic pain illnesses have symptoms that mimic fibromyalgia. In'90, The American College of Rheumatology conducted a study that evaluated individuals suffering from neck pain, low back pain, tendinitis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and other painful disorders. They were able to pinpoint those who had fibromyalgia with 88% accuracy. The study concluded that this condition is a known physical disorder that could be distinguished from other pain disorders. Conquering fibromyalgia forever is a goal that all individuals suffering from this condition wish to attain.

Diagnosing fibromyalgia is difficult because it has been considered a non-disease, and there is no conclusive test to diagnose the disorder. Several criteria are used. Tender points are sites used to apply slight pressure to initiate pain. There are' different sites used for diagnosis. The cause of the pressure points is not known, but they do cause pain and discomfort. Inflammation seems to be part of the problem, but when tissue has been examined no signs of inflammation have been found. Physicians rely on medical and family history and physical examination to pinpoint fibromyalgia and to make treatment recommendations. The American college of Rheumatology published a study in'90, which is considered the benchmark for the inclusion of fibromyalgia as a known physical disorder. The study involved patients suffering from pain problems that mimicked fibromyalgia. They were able to distinguish fibromyalgia from other chronic pain illnesses with 88% accuracy.

Causes

People who suffer from fibromyalgia have found specific factors that worsen their pain. Certain individuals are at higher risk because of gender, age, disturbed sleep patterns, family history and rheumatic disease. Other factors include stress and anxiety, depression or physical exhaustion, lack of sleep and restless leg syndrome. Researchers tend to believe that it could be a variety of factors working together, such as genetics, infections, and physical or emotional trauma. Women are more likely than men to develop fibromyalgia, so for them conquering fibromyalgia now is of particular concern to them.

Some Recommendations

When an individual is suffering from fatigue and the lack of sleep because of the pain, they are looking for some relief. Conquering fibromyalgia forever is possible and pain management is the first goal in treating this disorder. A program using both traditional and alternative therapies can be involved in the treatment. Some individuals find that low doses of antidepressants control their pain very well. Therapeutic massage helps ease the pain and daily moist heat applications benefits joint stiffness. Others get better control from stress management, exercise and hydrotherapy. Managing stress is very important, because stress increases pain over tender points and decreases the ability to cope with pain. Taking time each day for rest and relaxation will reduce the stress. Another recommendation includes maintaining a healthy lifestyle by getting enough sleep and exercising regularly.

Who can help?

There are millions of people worldwide who suffer from fibromyalgia. They do best when supported by each other and family and friends. This condition causes depression and social isolation. Help and advice can be found in organizations such as the Arthritis Foundation and the American Chronic Pain Association. They provide classes and access to support groups where individuals find each other and know they are not alone in this fight in conquering fibromyalgia forever.

Fibromyalgia is a condition characterized by widespread muscle and joint pain. The cause is unknown and the symptoms are many. Because it is a syndrome, many symptoms occur at the same time, making diagnosis difficult. It is an ongoing disorder looking for a solution. - 29964

The Emotional Toll Fibromyalgia Disorder Takes

By Christian Goodman

It's no surprise to most of you by now that I take a lot of interest in feedback from my clients and also potential clients. I have received tremendous amount of feedback from several who have either tried my products, expecting little to no relief (due to the lack of success of so many other products they've tried before mine).

I really take to heart the feedback telling me that not only where my products easy to use with no nasty side effects, but that they also did the one thing so many other products promise but fail to deliver - they brought relief and improved my clients' health.

Additionally, I have received questions from people curious, but jaded, almost desperately asking why my products can help.

While my products have helped many with high blood pressure, weight loss and headaches to name a few, the overwhelming despair has been with certain conditions which have so afflicted people that over time, that the physical drain has evolved into a major depression.

Fibromyalgia is one such condition. Fibromyalgia is a puzzling disease because each of its symptoms alone can be attributed to other conditions. Symptoms include pain in muscles, joints and other soft tissues (including the nerves and face), severe fatigue, sensitivity to touch, bowel disturbances, chest pain, vision problems, dizziness and trouble concentrating.

The difference between Fibromyalgia and a lot of the conditions whose symptoms it can share is that Fibromyalgia has no official cause. This is why so many doctors are quick to dismiss the condition as something else and when that finally fails, they will attribute it to "all in your head."

Would it astonish you to learn it takes five years on an average to be diagnosed with fibromyalgia? FIVE YEARS!!! I have trouble imagining five hours of the chronic symptoms listed above, let alone years.

This is why the emotional toll is so great. Imagine not wanting to leave your house to work or do any other type of social interaction due to the fact that your pain response is so heightened that even shaking hands or the casual pat on the back is unbearable.

We are social animals so that alone can bring about depression. Even if you were to "manage" the symptoms enough to be around others - how long before you've alienated yourself from others because they either don't sympathize with your condition or as so many times happens, your distress is infectious and people feel like they need a break from you?

Hopefully, all of you have an excellent support system of people in place but even with that, pain is a negative feeling and quite naturally brings about negative feelings such as frustration, sadness, anger and hopelessness.

Keep in mind this doesn't happen overnight. Just as fibromyalgia is a chronic condition which oftentimes worsens over time, depression can build and build and before you know it, your depression and your fibromyalgia are so intertwined that you can't separate the two.

I take you back now to my first comments about feedback from my clients. My programs have helped so many, I am entirely confident in advocating them to you. If fibromyalgia is taking both a physical and emotional damage on your health, please give my product a chance to make a change!

Three Common Diabetes Symptoms

By Patricia Millner

Diabetes is a disease which prevents insulin from being used properly in the body of an otherwise healthy adult or child. Insulin is a critical chemical in the body which helps turn sugar and starches into energy the human body can use. When a person has diabetes his or her body has a difficult time producing enough insulin. The symptoms of diabetes can be nearly unnoticeable at first.

Nearly 18 million people have diabetes in the United States, though many doctors and health professionals feel that that number is actually inaccurate due to the large number of people who have diabetes but have never been diagnosed. Knowing the symptoms of diabetes can help you decide if you need to see a doctor or not for a full diagnosis and treatment. Here are some of the more common symptoms of diabetes:

Excessive Hunger and Thirst: Because diabetes affects how your body digests and handles food, you may actually feel more hungry after a big meal than before you began eating. Thirst may also be increased due to sugar building up in you body. Since your body won't be able to handle the sugar your kidneys will have to work overtime. The increased sugar will leave your body as urination, which may leave you dehydrated and wanting more to drink.

Excessive urination: This is sometimes more difficult to notice because different people do urinate at different rates. The increased thirst of diabetes often leads to increased liquid intake which obviously means more urination. Adults who wet the bed at night unexpectedly could actually be suffering from a form of diabetes and not even realize it.

Increased fatigue: There are a number of reasons you may feel unusually fatigued, but the extra work your body is spending just to process sugar may be one of them. Your body also is not able to get as much energy from sugar and starches, so it may feel as though you're always run down simply because you are!

Diabetes is a serious disease that can grow worse if not diagnosed early and treated properly. The good news is that diabetes is a disease which doesn't have to kill you. You can live and even thrive with diabetes as long as you take care of yourself with some common sense treatments and actions. - 29964

You May Have Diabetes If You Have These Symptoms

By Pat Miller

Diabetes is a disease which prevents insulin from being used properly in the body of an otherwise healthy adult or child. Insulin is a critical chemical in the body which helps turn sugar and starches into energy the human body can use. When a person has diabetes his or her body has a difficult time producing enough insulin. The symptoms of diabetes can be nearly unnoticeable at first.

Knowing the symptoms of diabetes can help you decide if you need to see a doctor or not for a full diagnosis and treatment. Here are some of the more common symptoms of diabetes:

Extreme hunger and thirst: Since insulin controls how your body digests food, your body, and especially your kidneys, may start working overtime if it doesn't have enough insulin. Since your body isn't getting the full effect of the food you're digesting, your body may feel as though it needs more. Since your kidneys are working hard and trying to eliminate extra sugar through urination, you're losing a lot of liquid and may feel as though you have to keep drinking to replenish your body's water.

Increased Urination: Because your body working overtime to remove sugar from its system, you may find yourself urinating more. As your thirst increases you'll find yourself drinking more liquid, which only means you'll have to urinate sooner rather than later. Many adult bed wetters may really only have an undiagnosed case diabetes which can be treated.

Excessive Fatigue: When you suffer from diabetes your body is working extra hard to process the food you eat. Your body also is not able to get as much energy from sugar and starches, so it may feel as though you're always run down simply because you are!

Diabetes is a treatable but serious disease which can worsen if left undiagnosed and untreated. There are many subtle symptoms of diabetes, and this list is just a small sampling of what you may feel or experience if you have the disease. Talking to a qualified medical professional is always the best course of action if you are not feeling well. - 29964

Important Facts You Need to Know About Natural Insomnia Cures

By Ash Derbe

People that have insomnia sometimes prefer to seek a natural remedy to treat it. Some natural cures include herbal remedies considered harmless to most people including chamomile tea and lemon balm. One must pay close attention that not all natural cures are considered safe. Herbal remedies sometimes contain prescription medicines, and due to their classification, are not always regulated.

Herbal remedies such as valerian root, kava kava, chamomile, lemon balm, St. John's wort and passion flower have been used as insomnia cures for years. Please note the effectiveness and safety of these remedies has not been formally documented nor researched. Existing studies completed on herbal remedies are often hard to interpret. Since they are not based on standardized studies like those done for prescription drugs as prescribed by regulatory bodies such as the FDA.

Melatonin is often used by insomnia sufferers as a sleep aid. The substance melatonin is a hormone manufactured by a gland in the brain called the pineal gland and is derived from an amino acid called tryptophan. Synthetically made melatonin is used for a number of medical situations, such as an insomnia cure. Of the herbal remedies, melatonin is the most studied natural cure for insomnia, however it still remains unregulated in the United States. Proof of its effects as an insomnia cure still remains inconclusive. Existing studies revealed that people do fall asleep faster while taking melatonin, however there is no effect on the duration of sleep time or decreasing sleepiness during daytime hours.

It is important to stress that melatonin is not categorized as a drug, but rather a dietary supplement, and therefore its effectiveness and quality is not controlled in the United States. (Of the developed nations in the world, the U.S. does not regulate melatonin). Melatonin is a strong hormone and it may produce significant side effects, some are still not known, affecting various parts of the body. Since so much is unknown, people taking melatonin as an insomnia cure are experimenting with their own body.

Natural remedies are not regulated by the FDA and therefore their quality is not controlled. Additionally, if body chemistry can be altered by a given compound, then the potential for serious side effects is present. Even if studies show natural remedies have a positive effect, it is important to note that the tested substances are not always the same ones available to the public. Also, herbal remedies were sometimes found to contain standard prescription drugs.

Whether natural or chemical, one should not be compelled to use drugs as insomnia cures. Natural therapies can be used to help provide an insomnia sufferer a good night's sleep without the use of drugs. - 29964

Not Sleeping? A Natural Antiviral Might be the Answer

By Leann Verner

In a recent study, polyDNA interviewed people who were taking the antiviral supplement Gene-Eden for a few weeks. The objective was to collect data about their physical reactions to the supplement. The result of analysis was surprising. It showed that the participants were experiencing better, more refreshing sleep, compared to the time prior to taking the supplement.

Natural antiviral and sleep?

While mostly still unknown to general public, several recent studies reported that chronic viruses can cause sleeping problems, and that antiviral drugs can resolve these problems. One such study was conducted by Professor Jose G. Montoya from the School of Medicine at Stanford University and his team. The study treated a group of people with sleeping problems and high concentrations of chronic viruses in their blood with valganciclovir, an antiviral drug. The study showed that the treatment resolved the sleeping problems in 75% of the participants!

How are these studies related to Gene-Eden?

Gene-Eden is a broad range, all natural, antiviral nutritional supplement that targets viruses during their chronic or latent phase. These viruses include the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), Herpes Simplex virus (HSV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Varicella Zoster virus (VZV), Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).

The supplement's formulation includes five compounds. To find these compounds, the scientists at polyDNA first downloaded thousands of scientific papers, than analyzed these papers with their in-house, proprietary bio-informatics software, and then used the results of the analysis to find the most powerful and safe compounds.

Some of the scientific studies that show the strong antiviral effect of the five ingredients are listed on the Gene-Eden website at http://www.gene-eden.com.

Also, as would be expected from the rigorous process used by the scientists at polyDNA, users of Gene-Eden report significant improvements in their health.

How is Gene-Eden different from sleeping pills like Ambien or dietary supplements like melatonin?

Let's consider what the Consumer Reports says about sleeping aids: "Most sleep drugs are supposed to be taken for no longer than two weeks or so, and continued use could lead to serious side effects or dependency; "rebound" insomnia, in which sleeplessness returns and might actually worsen; memory lapses; and hallucinations."

Why do sleeping drugs cause these side effects? Because they change the chemistry in the brain. Sleeping pills induce sleep by creating an artificial chemistry in the user's brain. However, this artificial chemistry is artificial, and therefore, causes serious side effects.

Moreover, the brain is adoptive. It learns fast. When the artificial chemistry becomes the standard chemistry night after night, the brains changes its own chemistry and becomes dependent on the pills for sleeping.

Unlike these artificial sleeping pills, Gene-Eden targets the chronic viruses found in the body, that is, the cause of the sleeping problems. Gene-Eden does not induce an artificial chemistry in the brain. It rather recreates a more natural, healthy chemistry, the one found in people with little or no chronic viruses, those who experience an uninterrupted, refreshing nigh sleep.

Interested in more information about Gene-Eden and sleep? See the "About Sleep" web page at http://www.gene-eden.com/sleep.htm. Would you like to know about other risks associates with chronic viruses? Visit the fascinating web page on the Gene-Eden website that explains, in simple terms, the highly acclaimed scientific discovery by Dr. Hanan Polansky. The discovery shows how chronic viruses can cause major diseases such as heart disease, arthritis, asthma, cancer, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, or even accelerated aging. This page is found at http://www.gene-eden.com/Gene-Eden.htm.

Chronic Viruses Cause Cancer - Gene-Eden, an Antiviral Supplement, Targets Chronic Viruses

By Lynda Rowen

The immune system is very forceful, but fragile. Many conditions inside or outside your body can harm it. For instance, are you stressed? Are you taking medications for quite a while for lowering cholesterol or blood pressure, or to control other long term conditions? Are you using your cell phone extensively? Do you work or live next to a source of radiation such as a cell phone antenna? Are you older than 40? Stress, medication, radiation (UV, x-Ray, cell phone, etc.), and aging, all hurt your immune system.

Why is and efficient immune system important to your health? Since, among other things, it controls the number of chronic viruses that reside in your body. A few of the most common viruses that infect almost everyone, and stay with us for life, are the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), Herpes Simplex virus (HSV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Varicella Zoster virus (VZV), Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).

What happens when the immune system is weak? These viruses multiply and cause major diseases, such as arthritis, heart disease, asthma, cancer, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, or even accelerated aging. (See scientific research on the link between chronic viruses and these diseases at http://www.gene-eden.com/Gene-Eden.htm.)

How do the common viruses cause these diseases? And is there a way to protect against them?

Let?s start by taking one disease, cancer, as an example. The process in the other diseases is similar (see below). Scientists believe that cancer results from a genetic mutation. For instance, they believe that breast cancer results from a mutation in the BRCA1 gene. This belief makes sense, since the BRCA1 gene produces a protein (with the same name) that stops the cell from replicating, and therefore, prevents it from turning into a tumor. However, here is the mystery. Only 5% of the breast cancer patients have a mutated gene. What about the other 95% of the patients? What causes cancer in the patients that don?t have a mutation?

Dr. Hanan Polansky solved the mystery in his 2003 ?purple book.? In his book, he identified the cause of cancer in the other 95% of the patient, those without a mutation.

Scientists showed that all people are infected with some chronic viruses. (Curious to know which viruses reside in your body? Ask your doctor for a simple blood test, or visit the Gene-Eden website at http://www.gene-eden.com/immune.htm for further instructions.) According to Dr. Hanan Polansky, chronic viruses are genetic parasites. These viruses compete with the human genes for a scarce and important genetic resource. When they multiply, the human genes lose the competition and ?starve.? There just isn?t enough of the scarce resource for everyone. Starved human genes don?t function properly, and start to show the behavior that scientists usually see in mutated genes. Now, we all know that mutated genes cause disease. So, it is easy to see why starved genes, which behave like mutated genes, also cause disease.

For a more detailed explanation of Dr. Hanan Polansky?s discovery, specifically formulated for the general public, see http://www.gene-eden.com/Gene-Eden.htm.

Breast cancer and the BRCA1 are not unique. When a chronic virus starves another gene, called CD18, the infected host develops atherosclerosis, heart attacks, and even stroke. When a chronic virus starves a third gene, called TF, the host develops autoimmune diseases, such as juvenile diabetes, lupus, arthritis, Crohn's disease, and the list goes on and on.

Why is Dr. Hanan Polansky?s discovery important?

It is important since it inspired the scientists at polyDNA to develop the antiviral supplement Gene-Eden, which, for the first time, targets, the cause and not the symptoms of the major diseases.

Gene-Eden is an all natural, broad range, antiviral dietary supplement that targets many of the most common viruses during their latent or chronic phase. The Gene-Eden formulation includes five natural ingredients. To identify these ingredients, the scientists at polyDNA used a unique process. First, they collected thousands of scientific papers. Then, they analyzed the content of these papers with their in-house, proprietary bio-informatics program. Finally, they used the results of the computer analysis to select the five most powerful, yet safe antiviral ingredients. Do your want to read some of the papers identified with the computer analysis, which were published in scientific journals and show the powerful antiviral effect of the five ingredients? Visit the Gene-Eden website. In addition, and as would be expected from the scientific process used by the scientists at polyDNA to identify these ingredients, users of Gene-Eden describe great health oriented results. - 29964

Fibro - How does Diet contribute

By Christian Goodman

Fibromyalgia, a disease whose symptoms include chronic fatigue (regardless of the amount of sleep attained), muscle and joint pain, has no cause identified. It affects up to 5% of the population, and for the most part women.

With so many people afflicted with this disorder, I am amazed at the number of my clients who have told me that they had to see several doctors before one would actually acknowledge that fibromyalgia is even a health condition.

Not only did they often times not have the support of friends and family, they were then subjected to experts who, at best, summed the condition up to depression. They were then prescribed assorted antidepressants, all with dangerous side effects.

Theres nothing worse than knowing something is wrong with you and being told that its all in your head.

The correspondence I have received has been heart breaking, with the exception of the gratitude expressed by my clients over the fact that my Fibromyalgia program has helped them significantly.

Several have asked if there is something in their diet or environment that could be triggering this condition. Emerging findings shows that diet can, in fact play a very large role.

While diet is not thought to cause or even trigger fibromyalgia like say, migraine headaches, the growing belief is that fibromyalgia symptoms are worsen by other conditions which can be sparked or triggered by certain foods. Once these conditions decrease, the outcome is that fibromyalgia symptoms dissipate.

The thing to keep in mind is that fibromyalgia loves diversity. Just as not everyone is affected to the same extremes, there is no all-inclusive list of foods to shun from. The key is to take note of certain known foods that affect many with fibromyalgia and test to see if your condition is relieved over time as you test eliminate these foods from your diet.

Some foods experts now say to avoid are Aspartame and MSG. They are known to irritate certain pain receptors which for people who suffer fibromyalgia are already heightened.

Getting rid of caffeine from ones diet has also shown to work. While many are tempted to drink caffeine drinks for the pep, it can actually make fatigue worse.

Dairy foods also make the list, although this is debateable. Some think strengthened bones can actually ease joint pain.

Yeast, mold, gluten and vinegar are also included. This is thought to be because TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder), IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and migraines, all known to affect fibromyalgia symptoms, are initiated by these foods.

A macrobiotic diet (whole foods) has shown favorable for some fibromyalgia patients, as well as Omega 3 fatty acids (found in fish, flax see, certain nuts and also added to some foods such as cereal).

I also recommend you to try my Fibromyalgia program. Its outcome have been amazing!

Throw Away Your Medications, Infrared Sauna Therapy May Relieve Your Fibromyalgia.

By Eric Parglea

Fibromyalgia is an increasingly far reaching malady which leads to continual, agony encompassing the whole body (including sore joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. ) Fibromyalgia may cause significant fatigue, morning stiffness the inability to sleep, throbbing heads, deadened sensation in hands and feet, despair, and apprehension.

The most typical treatment for fibromyalgia is pain relief medication the fight their relentless symptoms. As everyone knows there also are negative complications related to long-term use of common pain relief medications like analgesics. Contemporary studies of long term use of over-the-counter (OTC) painkillers like Advil, Motrin and Aleve had the surprising result of a reduction in the occurrence of oral cancer by nearly 50%. However the danger dying from coronary disease among ibuprofen (and similar types of pain killer) users went up virtually threefold.

In addition, the press has rather a lot to report recently about Bextra, Vioxx and Celebrex (pharmaceuticals) which have left many folks in serious health situations with horrendous complications. The Food and Drug Administration in the US publicly warns against the use of all pain abating drugs over the long term.

Our research has found that taking drugs may not be the only way to relive aches and pains. Folks might also get some notable relief by seeking an alternative natural cure that not only treats soreness and discomfort, but also will defend your heart against damage simultaneously.

Using infrared sauna for fibromyalgia relief is becoming a more and more recognized effective treatment. Research has demonstrated that treating the discomfort of fibromyalgia with deep heat is better than pain alleviation medicines. Infrared saunas emit heat that penetrates below the surface of the skin and can positively affect the whole body.

Furthermore, the detoxification bonus of using an infrared sauna for fibromyalgia relief, will help the body return to its natural state of well being.

Moreover, when you use an infrared sauna for fibromyalgia relief , you can also relieve the fatigue and depression symptoms that from time to time accompany the physical pain of this malady. When one gets going with infrared sauna sessions, the quantity and quality of one's rest tend to improve. Also, infrared heat may reduce depression by stimulating the pituitary.

Regular infrared sauna sessions can significantly reduce fibromyalgia discomfort without pharmaceuticals. When combined with the other health improvements related to infrared sauna, trying out infrared sauna is a sensible plan of action. . - 29964

Stress is Both Good and Bad ? The 3rd Law of Personal Energy

By Gerry Geneva

Stress gets a bad rap. Stress in fact is both good and bad. At its most basic level if you think about it, you?ll see that we don?t learn or grow without some element of stress. When we are forced beyond our comfort zone, in every area of life, we can see its then that we grow and progress.

However, when unchecked, when exposed to a chronic and unrelenting high level of stress, our body begins to break down.

Its important to note that?s we experience stress across all area of our life, be it physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual. How we cope with stress has an incredible affect on how much energy we have. I?ve outlined several examples of how energy are connected.

Physical Stress - Working out your bicep is good, however, if you don't take a break and get some rest, you will damage the muscle causing yourself a lot of pain, and a reduction in your ability to lift heavy weight. Interestingly enough, many Olympic athletes lift weights only once a week or less because they know the importance of rest and renewal.

Mental Stress - Its common knowledge that the brain is extremely powerful. From mathematical analysis to creative thinking, you will see your performance increase dramatically, in addition to your energy levels, if you can learn to systematically give your mind the rest that it needs.

Keep this mind that some of the greatest thinkers of our time (i.e. Ford, Einstein, Edison, Churchill) were notorious for taking extended breaks in the middle of some of their biggest challenges. They found and often wrote about how when they took some time away from the challenge and gave themselves a break (in the form of naps, walks, socializing, etc), they came back with a different perspective, a clearer vision, and a deeper level of energy to solve the challenges of the day.

I?m not saying use this as an excuse to sleep all afternoon. And its a recommendation that you may not want to bring up with your boss, but the point is still relevant. Take more thought of your mental health. You mind is very powerful, but without the proper care and rest, it can be a tremendous energy drain.

Emotional Stress ? If you have gone through a trying experience such as the death of a loved one or anything equally challenging, you are very much aware that your emotions play a large part in how you feel everyday. Likely you?ve experienced the energy drain you feel after dealing with a difficult person, or having an intense argument with a loved one, or experiencing a devastating financial setback.

However, its not the experience itself that is most telling, but what we do about it. You?ll likely recall that many of the most accomplished people you can think of achieved great success only after excruciating setbacks. I won?t go into a lot of detail, but know that we can gain energy from some of the most trying times in our lives, instead of losing it. It?s a matter of managing emotional energy, as opposed to managing an emotionally stressful situation.

Spiritual Stress - By spiritual I don't necessarily mean your faith or religion, although that plays a part. What I mean by spiritual is the deep convictions each of us holds dear to our hearts. Are you being true to yourself in your career? Are you on purpose? Are you striving towards a goal or vision of the future you desire for yourself and your family?

Spiritual energy is one of the most pure and consistently dependable sources of personal energy that we can experience. By becoming more congruent with our deepest desires and our truest self we will find stores of energy we didn?t know we had.

In conclusion, its important to know that stress comes in both good and bad forms. If we can learn to harness all 4 sources of energy and correctly deal with all 4 types of stress, we will find that he have more personal energy that we thought possible in our lives. - 29964

Feeling Grouchy In Your "Old Age?"

By Anju Mathur, M.D.

Feel like you're just getting old and life is getting you down? Too many aches and pains? Tired all the time? Well, maybe you are getting old, and there's nothing that can be done about your age, but certainly there is something that can be done to elevate your mood, give you more energy and alleviate those aches and pains.

Chronic fatigue syndrome often carries these symptoms, but with conventional medicine there's not much you can do about it. It's almost like saying, "Well, you're just getting old," or "it's all in your head."

You could see a sleep therapist and a dietitian and a physical therapist and a psychologist, and obtain very little or no results. These are the usual recommendations.

There are actual physical causes underlying chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic aches and pains and depression. What you eat will make a huge difference in how you feel. A diet high in saturated fats and refined vegetable oils will exacerbate pain, while the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish and flaxseed oil will help alleviate it. Likewise, eating lots of refined carbohydrates will worsen your condition, whereas slow-burning carbohydrates (foods rich in fiber) give your body the sustained source of energy it needs.

Sometimes allergies arise later in life, and these can be tested for. Wheat and dairy are common offenders. Once you eliminate the offending foods, it will make a big difference in how you feel.

Neurotransmitter serotonin is a chemical produced by the body which regulates mood and a lack of this chemical makes one feel gloomy and cause other symptoms attributed to chronic fatigue syndrome. It also is associated with pain, and a lack of serotonin increases perception of pain.

By using natural supplements that increase serotonin levels, relief comes for pain and depression. St. John's Wort, SAMe and 5-HIP, all natural nutrients that boost serotonin, are much safer than psychiatric anti-depressant drugs because they do not carry with them the side effects. In addition, the natural remedies are backed by solid research (which prescription anti-depressants lack).

Many people have benefited with programs of diet and nutrients and supplements tailored for their own bodies and found new energy for life. No need to be a grouchy old man - or woman! - 29964

The 1st Law of Energy - How To Activate All 4 Sources of Energy Within You

By Gerry Geneva

Plato once said that a physician can't properly treat a disease until he/she has had it. There is a bit of truth to that. I find that it is especially true when you talk about adrenal fatigue or chronic fatigue. I work with people all the time who are always exhausted, yet they don't know what is wrong. After consulting with their doctor they don't feel any better because all the doctor recommended is eat better or exercise more. Although this advice is meaningful in some cases, a lot of the time is just not that helpful.

I was completely frustrated with my own doctor until I came across a realization that completely changed things for me.

My realization is what I have since deemed the first law of energy. It is that personal energy comes from a variety of sources not just the physical. Because energy is all around us and we are in fact energy beings, our bodies gain energy from a variety of different sources.

I know this sounds a bit new age for some people, but it is true. Just think for a minute about different situations you may have been in which you may have drawn in large amounts of energy.

Do you remember when your favorite team won the Super Bowl?

What about after the birth of a child? How did you feel?

Do you remember the sparks and excitement when you met your spouse?

What about how you felt after you completed a really difficult project?

Situations can create within us feelings of extreme energy and elation. And what's interesting is it may have had nothing to do with the amount of sleep you got the night before, or that you exercised the day before. You simply got energized from different modalities.

The first law of energy is that all 4 areas of our being can be tremendous sources of energy. These 4 areas are physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. So, in trying to build our energy levels, we need to focus on all 4 sources in order to achieve maximum energy. - 29964

Are you waking up exhausted still? Maybe youve slept 10-12 hours and yet you still dont feel recharged? If this is the case then these 3 tips can help you get a more restful and energy recharging sleep.

One of the most frustrating things is waking up still completely exhausted. You might have slept for 8-12 hours but are still completely depleted upon waking up. If this is happening to you more than just every once in a while, these 3 tips will help you get the most out of your sleep once more.

You can learn a lot from this routine for newborns. If you are not in a natural circadian rhythm, you may not be getting the relaxing and deep sleep you need. This is why you feel drained when you wake up. In my experience, 7 out of 10 times, people will start seeing an immediate boost in energy from just taking the time to create a deliberate nighttime routine.

Second, limit the amount of sugar and caffeine you take in. The Starbucks generation type living is running down our bodies at an alarming rate. Studies now clearly show that caffeine and sugar are not reliable sources of energy. Yet we act like its our only source. If you need coffee to get going in the morning, you may be relying too heavily on caffeine for your energy. The only problem is when it wears out you may dip into a fatigue lull or valley. Get your energy from reliable sources " proteins, carbs, etc. something that will give you that staying power throughout your day.

Furthermore, our cortisol rise and fall throughout the day. This is an important part of our biological rhythm. When we ingest caffeine or sugar we are artificially stimulating our bodies to produce more cortisol. While this occurrence on an occasional basis isnt all that harmful, a continued constant pressure on the adrenal glands to produced more and more cortisol can lead to a condition known as adrenal fatigue. If you develop adrenal fatigue you will severely compromise your energy levels for the long term, making it difficult for you to get rest from your sleep, as well as feel sustained and energized during the day.

The third and final tip is to clean up your bedroom. I know its a very unusual tip to increase your energy levels but stay with me. All you need to do is try it and you will start to notice a difference. Have you ever had a big mess in your living room or kitchen and finally you got fed up with it enough to clean it. Once you were done and you saw the result, how did you feel? If you paid close attention to you body at that point, you may have experienced a form of reliefstress relief.

It is a common belief that we gain energy not only from what we put into ourselves, but also from the environment in which we spend time. If your environment is wrecked and always cluttered, it makes us feel wrecked and cluttered in our lives. Whats more interesting is this is especially true for environments that are close to us like the bedroom. The bedroom is considered to be a very private and a place that is close to your heart. Not surprisingly we are affected most by people and things that are most close to us. If our bedroom is cluttered, it impacts us emotionally and can reveal itself as emotional stress whether we know it or not.

Furthermore, psychologists say that the thoughts you have before drifting off to bed at night and the ones you have when you first wake up are the most important of the day. By clearing up the clutter in your bedroom and life, you will surely have better, more positive, and happier thoughts getting in and out of bed. This tip is a difficult one for people to grasp, but if you just try it and then pay close attention to your energy levels, you will notice a surge of energy coming from such a small choir. Clean your bedroom and then keep it clean. It is worth it.

By developing a nighttime routine, watching the caffeine and sugar you put into your body, and by cleaning up the clutter in your lives, especially in the bedroom, you are sure to see positive personal energy flow into your life. - 29964

The 2nd Law Of Personal Energy: Your Natural Energy Levels

By Gerry Geneva

Life, like energy has a cycle. The trick is to identify these rhythms and maximize them if you want to have sustainable energy. Let me explain.

Everyday we expend energy to get some form of work done. We need to work, then we need to refuel. Most of us have had the experience where for one reason or another we skipped lunch. We went against the cycle, and likely we felt the consequences of that by becoming irritable, lethargic, and mentally unclear.

All of us can stand to get a little better at listening to our bodies. It knows what it needs but often we try to act like we know better.

People often ask me to give specifics. Ok. Consider the most common rhythm we have, the Circadian rhythm. This is the rhythm that controls our sleep and wake cycles. For most people this rhythm oscillates between 8 hours of sleep and 16 hours of being awake (this varies slightly among people).

But what most people are not familiar with is the Ultradian rhythm. This is another biological clock within us but this one controls a different cycle. The Ultradian rhythm is about every 90-120 minutes, it varies depending on several factors. What it controls though is the level of energy you feel. Have you ever noticed that every 90-120 minutes or so you start to feel a little tired, hungry, bored, unable to concentrate, and maybe even a little anxious. Your Ultradian rhythm is responsible for that and its telling you that you need a break.

What our body wants is for us to get up, walk around and completely disconnect from the task at hand. It is craving recovery. You should walk away from your desk and do something completely unrelated to what you were doing for about 10 to 15 minutes. You should also at this point, refuel physically a bit by drinking some water and eating either a fruit or a vegetable, something real light that will give you a quick charge.

That is what you should do, but what we normally do is quite the opposite. We try to force ourselves to break through the tiredness. We go get a cup of coffee or a caffeinated soda. We grab a donut or some sugar loaded cookie or cake. What we are doing is trying to get our energy level up by putting some pretty terrible chemicals into our bodies. And don't even mention the energy drinks that have become so wildly popular.

All you need to do is Google "side effects of caffeine and sugar" to get more details on what these chemicals do to your overall health and specifically your energy. I won't go into it here because there is a lot of information out there about it already. But just know that it is going against Mother Nature by trying to prop up your energy by ingesting unnatural stimulants, and there are always consequences to that.

The good news is with a little effort, you can get your energy back and perform at your maximum energy potential. Here are a couple quick tips to get you on the road. First, buy a refillable water bottle and drink from that instead of coffee or soda. Second start bringing healthy snacks with you so you are not tempted by vending machines and sugary snacks. And finally, set a timer on your watch, cell phone, and/or computer to remind you to take a break. You'll need to experiment a bit to find your exact rhythm but with a little effort, you will quickly see a surge in the amount of energy you have to do everyday things. Good luck! - 29964
